World's largest 'Khadi national flag' was unveiled in Leh on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. The flag was inaugurated by Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, RK Mathur on Saturday. The 'Tiranga' made up of Khadi cloth is the largest such national flag in the world. The national flag has a length of 225 feet, a width of 150 feet & weighs 1000 kilogram. Army chief Gen Manoj Mukund Naravane, who is on a 2-day visit to Ladakh, attended the event. General Naravane was also accompanied by several senior Army officials. Health minister Mansukh Mandaviya described the event as a 'moment of great pride for India’. The year 2021 marks the 152nd birth anniversary of Mahatma, who was born in 1869 in Gujarat.
