Odisha Centre Trains Kumki Elephants To Prevent Human-Elephant Conflict | HT India

The Odisha Forest Department operates a specialised Kumki Elephant Training Centre at Kumarakhunti near Bhubaneswar, where orphaned, injured and herd-separated young elephants are rehabilitated and trained. The trained elephants help authorities manage human-elephant conflicts by guiding wild herds away from human settlements. The facility includes shelters, bathing areas, a kitchen and dedicated play spaces.
