Even as Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard announced the 'Order of Australia award' for batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar, for his "outstanding contribution to international cricket", Opposition Leader Tony Abbott has welcomed the decision saying the batsman had given a lot of pleasure to Oz cricket fans over the years. However, Gillard's decision to award the country's top most civil honour to Tendulkar has not gone down well with the country's media. Senior Oz cricket writer Robert Craddock has branded Tendulkar as a liar for the role he played in the Harbhajan Singh-Andrew Symond racial spat during the Sydney Test in 2008, and also raised question marks over the legendary batsman's worthiness of receiving Australia's highest honour.
