Why is U.S. worried about Apache choppers? Top panel seeks modernization plan

According to lawmakers, the U.S. Army lacks a plan to modernize Apache (AH-64) attack helicopter. The Apache will continue to serve as the U.S. Army’s principal attack helicopter until 2050 & beyond. U.S. House Armed Services Panel - 'No comprehensive, budgeted plan to modernize Apache over the next 30 years'. The U.S. Army has executed Apache modernization through remanufacturing of the aircraft every 12-15 years. The U.S. Army Secretary shall brief the panel on plan to ensure Apache relevancy for the remainder of service life.
