Taiwan Jabs Beijing After Anti-China Leader Lai Ching-te Wins; 'Face Reality, We Are Independent'

Taiwan has clapped back at China for “belittling” the self-governed island’s “sovereignty” following the just concluded elections. Taiwan has elected anti-China leader Lai Ching-te despite warnings by Beijing. China labelled the elections as its own domestic affairs. Miffed by this, Taiwan has now asked China to “face reality” and give up oppression against the island nation. Taiwan also said, “we are sovereign and an independent country”.
