The U.S. is pushing for India to sign a deal of armable MQ-9B SeaGuardian drones when PM Narendra Modi visits. As per Reuters, U.S. officials want India to cut through its own red tape and surpass bureaucratical hurdles plaguing the deal for years now. The U.S. hopes that the logjam will be ended when PM Modi visits on June 22. India is currently leasing two of the U.S.-made maritime patrol and reconnaissance drones.
