A baby orangutan named Didik enjoyed its first day at a school in Kalimantan (Borneo) after making a speedy recovery from a surgery. In June 2016, International Animal Rescue (IAR) had rescued Didik after his mother was shot dead and Didik was hit with a bullet on his shoulder. The surgery has been successful and the little primate has recovered well. He now goes to school too. The next stage for Didik is ''forest school'' once he is confident enough. Following this, the orangutans are sent to an artificially created pre-release island, which is the final stage before full return into the wild.
