Militants kill seven police officers in Pakistan attack

Suspected militants shot dead two policemen and blew up a checkpoint killing five more in an attack in the Pakistani town of Mianwali on Saturday. A senior police official said the attack appeared to be one of a series of similar attacks across the country. The explosion caused extensive damage and police and villagers worked to clear the debris and rubble on Saturday. Funeral prayers were also held for those who had been killed.
