Pak army takes over

In an update to the situation in Pakistan, television reports say that Lt Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kiani, the new Army Chief has proclaimed emergency and confirmed speculations. The Pak Army has entered the Supreme Court, the Constitution of the country and the Chief Justice Iftikhar Choudhary has been suspended and the judges have been evacuated. A final decision to declare an emergency had been taken and that Musharraf may address the nation later tonight.
