As the 68th Cannes Film Festival kicks off on May 13, here's a quick list of things to look out for:

As the 68th Cannes Film Festival kicked off on May 13, there is a lot cine fans in India need to watch out for. Katrina Kaif's inspired and confident debut on the red carpet was one thing we all can tick off from this bucket list already.

At the Un Regard Section at 2015, two films--Chauthi Koot (Punjabi) and Maasan (Hindi)--are being showcased. No mainstream Bollywood or other regional films will be shown.



A film on Amy Winehouse

No British film will be competing at the fest, for the first time, since 2008. The only British film to be screened in 2015 will be Asif Kapadia's documentary on late English singer Amy Winehouse, titled Amy. Woody Allen's Irrational Man is among the most-awaited film at 2015's Cannes film fest.



Woody Allen's film, Irrational Man, starring Joaquin Phoenix and Emma Stone, has generated a lot of buzz already and will be screened in the Out Of Competition category.Nawazuddin's production

Master chef Vikas Khanna will launch his book Utsav at Cannes 2015



Michelin-starred chef Vikas Khanna will be launching his book Utsav on May 17. The book, that is priced at Rs 8 lakh and weighs 16 kilos, talks of Indian cuisine for festivals.

An honour for Agnes Varda
French director Agnes Varda will be the first woman to be honoured with the prestigious Palme d'Or for the global impact of her body of work. The 86-year-old joins Woody Allen, Clint Eastwood and Bernardo Bertolucci as a recipient.

Promoting India to filmmakers

While Cannes 2014 focussed on collaborations between Indian and foreign productions in 2015, the Indian pavilion at the fest will organise events and activities that will promote India as a filming destination, as well.
