Eleven South African soldiers died Friday and 31 others suffered injuries when the bus they were travelling crashed, authorities said.

The South African Defence Force said the accident occurred outside the town of Clarens, near the northern border with Lesotho.

The military did not disclose details of the crash, but private medical rescue, ER24 said the “bus rolled down an embankment”.
