Iran has executed a nuclear scientist convicted of handing over “confidential and vital” information to the United States, a judicial spokesperson said on Sunday.
Reacting to this news, Republican US presidential nominee Donald Trump on Monday tweeted “Many people are saying that the Iranians killed the scientist who helped the US because of Hillary Clinton’s hacked emails.”
There is no evidence that the execution was related in any way to Hillary Clinton or the Democratic National Committee email hacking.
