US Iran war highlights: Trump issued a fresh warning to Iran on Saturday after open calls for his killing were heard during the funeral of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Meanwhile, following the latest US strikes on Thursday, Iran was reportedly hit by more attacks, raising questions over who was behind them. Iran had responded to the US strikes on Thursday by targeting Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait and Qatar.
Iranian foreign minister Abbas Araghchi is expected to discuss the Strait of Hormuz with his Omani counterpart during a meeting in Oman on Saturday, according to Iran's state-run IRNA news agency.
Turkish foreign minister Hakan Fidan told state broadcaster TRT that he believed "a solution can be reached" this weekend between Iran and Oman, which are located on opposite sides of the narrow waterway.
However, Araghchi on Saturday accused the US of breaching the interim agreement by ending waivers that allowed Iran to sell crude oil on the open market in US dollars. Washington took the step in response to the attacks on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
