Charlie Kirk, Donald Trump ally and founder of Turning Point USA, was shot at during an event at Utah Valley University, in Orem, on Wednesday. Kirk was seated in a tent, delivering a speech, when shots appeared to hit him on the side of the neck.

Following the incident, many within the government and the Republican party – including President Trump and Vice President JD Vance – shared their concern for Kirk's wellbeing.
Kirk was shifted to a hospital and succumbed to his injuries. President Donald Trump announced the news of his demise on Truth Social.
