People who know Moncrief in the Diamond Bar and West Covina neighborhoods are concerned about his allegedly abrupt absence. He had taken an extended leave of absence from work, per his employer, Carol Alda Ma, for what was anticipated to be a brief trip related to family and financial issues.

The employer, Carol, known online as @conceitedcarol, has been sharing updates on the case via her Instagram. HT.com could not independently verify this information.

Five things to know about Chris Moncrief

1. Chris Moncrief disappeared after an East Coast trip. According to information shared publicly by his employer, Carol, Moncrief took a three-week leave from his warehouse job before traveling to the East Coast to handle matters related to real estate and a cash inheritance from his late uncle.

He was expected to return to work on July 20 but never arrived. His employer reportedly could not reach him, and his phone allegedly went straight to voicemail. Family members also said they lost contact with him.

2. An inheritance dispute has surfaced but remains unverified. One aspect of the case receiving attention involves Moncrief's reported inheritance. Moncrief allegedly told his employer that some relatives were unhappy about him receiving money and property from his late uncle.

However, there is no public evidence linking any family member to his disappearance. Authorities have also not publicly shared any information about the ongoing investigation.

3. Police have released a few details about the investigation. The reported case is being investigated by the West Covina Police Department.

Carol has identified Detective Rubalcava as the investigating officer and reference case number 26-04369. However, police have not publicly disclosed the details of the leading officer in the case.

The authorities have also not shared details of when Moncrief was last seen, what he was wearing or whether investigators suspect foul play.

4. Foster sister joins search as fake messages emerge. Carol had allegedly received messages from Moncrief's personal email ID. However, in a later update, Carol shared that the messages she had received were from someone claiming to be Moncrief and were not authentic.

She said Moncrief's foster sister has since contacted her and is actively helping coordinate the search.

5. Moncrief's dog Luna is also missing. An appeal was also made for information about Moncrief's dog, Luna, described as a four-year-old Australian Shepherd with mostly grey fur.

She asked employees at dog boarding facilities to report if a dog matching Luna's description had been dropped off around June 27, 2026, and never collected.
