DHAKA: Bangladesh arrested three people on Monday for their involvement in an attack on three elderly Sufi Muslims, including two women, that left them critically injured in a town on the border with India. Eight to 10 assailants attacked several Bauls (mystic singers) on Sunday with sharp weapons, iron rods and bamboo sticks at Ektarpur village in Chadanga district. All the three injured are in critical state. The Baul community renders mystic songs disseminating messages of universal harmony, and does not perform routine Islamic rituals.
