West Indies beat England by four wickets to win second World T20 title
Despite a horror start and the regular fall of wickets, a 36-ball 54 from Joe Root and contributions from Jos Buttler and David Willey helped England post 155/9 in the final of the World T20 against West Indies in Kolkata’s Eden Gardens on Sunday.
Highlights

Unbelievable stuff, this. West Indies needed 19 runs in the last over and it looked difficult at best. But three sixes off Stokes from Carlos Brathwaite have turned things around. West Indies are World T20 champions for a second time.

15.3 Willey to Sammy, OUT
Goes for the big shot - AND HOLES OUT TO DEEP COVER! Sammy’s keeps up his Invisible Man routine, and you have to say that was not a sensible shot, only his third ball, a man standing out there, and he’s picked him out. England are not letting go here
15.1 Willey to Russell, OUT
Dug in short, Russell pirouettes on the spot - but sends a pull straight into the hands of Stokes on the deep midwicket boundary!

Over 3: 3 off Willey and the wicket of semifinal hero Lendl Simmons. 13/3
2.3 Willey to Simmons, OUT
Straightening, struck on the pads in front of leg stump - given! Yoinks, this is a sensational start from England! Was that a touch high? Rod Tucker didn’t think so and Simmons is gone for a golden duck! Pitched in line with middle and leg, hurtled on to hit the pads - and Hawk-Eye has it hitting the top of the stumps! England are cock-a-hoop (and that’s not a Willey pun)
Over 2: Two big, big wickets and two boundaries in that over from Joe Root. England are definitely in this. 10/2
1.3 Root to Gayle, OUT
Slogged into the sky - straight to long-off! Root has two in the over, and CHRIS GAYLE IS OUT!
1.1 Root to Charles, OUT
Round the wicket, dollied on the stumps.... and he skies a catch to mid-on! Stokes settled safely under it and England’s funky cricket brings them an early reward
Over 1: A single off the first over from Willey. West Indies 1/0.

After West Indies captain Darren Sammy won the toss and put England in to bat, spinner Samuel Badree struck on the second ball to castle Jason Roy. Alex Hales and captain Eoin Morgan departed soon after and so good was Badree, his four overs fetching two wickets for 16 runs.
A 61-run partnership between Buttler and Root helped put England back on track but once Buttler departed, the fall of regular wickets pegged England back.
Carlos Brathwaite returned three wickets for 23 runs, while Dwayne Bravo also took three and conceded 37 runs.
