The accident took place in Tangail district, 92 km northwest of the capital apparently because of poor visibility in dense fog, district police chief Abdul Mannan told reporters.
The truck was carrying labourers and construction materials from the port city of Chittagong to Bogra district in the northwest, he said, adding that the injured had been rushed to different hospitals of the district.
An earlier TV report had put the toll at 25.
