Three paramilitary troopers were injured when militants fired several mortar shells at a security forces check post in the restive Mohmand tribal region today, officials said.

Three Frontier Corps personnel, including a subedar major, were injured in the attack in Mamad Gat area of Mohmand Agency.

Several mortar shells hit post.
The injured personnel were taken to a military hospital in Peshawar.
Security forces responded to the attack by pounding militant positions in the area, officials said.
Troops also conducted a search operation in Saafi sub-division and demolished the houses of four militants.
