Algeria denies reports of Gaddafi's entry

Algeria has denied reports that a convoy of vehicles from Libya carrying Muammar Gaddafi had crossed into the country.

Algeria has denied reports that a convoy of vehicles from Libya carrying Muammar Gaddafi had crossed into the country.

Foreign ministry spokesman Amar Belani told APS news agency that "in recent months Algeria has been targeted by a flood of false information".

Arab news agencies reported that a convoy of six armoured Mercedes cars crossed from Libya into Algeria on Saturday, possibly carrying Gaddafi and his sons.

The rebels now control over 95% of Libya.
