China's Health Ministry says a fourth person has died from bird flu this year.
The latest death was a 31-year-old woman in Urumqi, the capital of the Xinjiang region in the country's far west.
The ministry said on its Web site today that the woman fell ill on Jan 10 and died yesterday. She had a history of exposure to a live poultry market.
A 27-year-old woman in eastern China, a 16-year-old boy in southwest China and a 19-year-old woman in Beijing have also died from the disease this month.
