"The Indian authorities and people can be confident in France's unreserved support and its determination to remain by their side in the battle against terrorism," Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner said in a statement.

Kouchner was speaking as India marked the first anniversary of the attack, in which 10 Islamist gunmen stormed buildings in India's financial capital, sparking a bloody, 60-hour siege televised live around the world.
