The incident happened in southwest Guizhou province, Xinhua reported.

Amid heavy downpour, a group of 34 tourists were watching the view from the top of the 2,400-metre-high Fanjing mountain Saturday when lightning hit them, officials said.

Witnesses said there was a huge explosion caused by the lightning.

The injured were taken to hospital but they are not facing any threat to their lives, they said.
