Arcadio Alvarez Quintero was sentenced to 15 years and seven months in jail by a judge in Fresno in southern Tolima province for incest and rape.
Alvarez, a resident of Mariquita, some 200 km from Bogota, was arrested in March after a complaint was filed against him by his daughter Alba Nidia, who fled her family home after 30 years of sexual abuse and 14 pregnancies.
Investigators found that the abuse and humiliation began after Alvarez's wife died, when Alba Nidia was barely five years old, reports said Friday.
This case has been compared with that of the Austrian Josef Fritzl, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for sexually abusing his daughter in a basement for 24 years. He fathered seven children with her.
In the final hearing of the case, Alvarez pleaded guilty and apologised to his daughter and the children he fathered with her.
