Making his first visit to Europe since taking office in April, Netanyahu flew into Paris from Rome and was set to hold one-on-one talks with Sarkozy, before giving an evening speech to members of the French Jewish community.
The talks with the French leader were set to focus on the question of Iran, with Netanyahu expected to press UN Security Council member France to back harder sanctions over Tehran's nuclear drive.
