Oppn leaders arrested as Iran riot toll climbs to 15

Two outspoken government critics were arrested on Monday, the opposition said, as state television reported the death toll from clashes between Iranian forces and protesters climbed to at least 15.

Two outspoken government critics were arrested on Monday, the opposition said, as state television reported the death toll from clashes between Iranian forces and protesters climbed to at least 15.

Rahesabz website said that Ebrahim Yazdi, who served as foreign minister in the early months of the 1979 Islamic revolution, was arrested at his home, a day after anti-government protesters and security forces clashed heavily in Tehran and other Iranian cities.

Award-winning rights campaigner and journalist, Emadeddin Baghi, was also arrested in Tehran on Monday.

Body missing

The body of Seyed Ali Mousavi, the nephew of opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi, killed in Tehran protests, has been transferred from the hospital to an unknown location, his brother told a website.

Seyed, 35, was shot dead in Tehran’s on Sunday.
