"The bill is under consideration of the ministry of law and the Election Commission," Online news agency quoted Overseas Pakistanis Minister Farooq Sattar as saying.
The measure would require changes in articles 101, 106 and 207 of the constitution, the minister said during question hour in the National Assembly.
Of the four National Assembly seats, one would be for Pakistanis living in Canada and the US, one for those living in Europe, one for those living in the Gulf countries and one for those living in countries in the east.
Sattar said the bill would help resolve the real problems of overseas Pakistanis. A proposal to allocate seats for overseas Pakistanis in the Senate, the upper house of parliament, would also be considered.
