A senior Pakistan Cricket Board official said the matches will be played on February 19 and 20.

"These matches will give our players a good opportunity to practice before the T20 World Cup in the West Indies. We also want the selectors to try out any new players they want in this series," PCB Chief Operating Officer Wasim Bari said.

Bari said since foreign teams were not willing to tour Pakistan because of the security situation the ideal way for Pakistan was to play matches at neutral venues.

"Apart from our commitments in the Future Tours program, we are also trying to organize more matches to make up for the loss of international cricket at home," Bari said.

Pakistan are the defending T20 World Champions with Shahid Afridi as the captain.

Bari said negotiations were also being held with some other boards to line up more short series for Pakistan. The T20 World Cup will be held in April-May after the Indian Premier League that starts in mid-March in India.
