"We have not had any official information about the freeze on West Bank settlements," Nabil Abu Rudeina said referring to a US package of incentives for Israel to accept a new 90-day moratorium, which was being debated by the cabinet on Sunday.

He said the Palestinian Authority had approached US officials overnight for clarification on the issue but had not yet received an answer.

"The Palestinian Authority is waiting for an official answer from the US administration about the details and facts about what is going on with this issue," he said.
