Australian police today recovered the body of a woman whose car was swept from the road in heavy flooding in the country's northeast, the first fatality in the disaster.

Australian police on Sunday recovered the body of a woman whose car was swept from the road in heavy flooding in the country's northeast, the first fatality in the disaster.
"The body of a woman swept from a vehicle while attempting to cross a flooded causeway... last night has been recovered," a police spokeswoman told AFP.
