President expresses grief over bus accident in Karnataka

President Pratibha Patil on Monday condoled the tragic bus accident in Karnataka in which 30 people, including 10 children, lost their lives.
A Karnataka roadways bus overturned and burst into flames on Monday killing 30 people, including 15 women and 10 children.
The President condoled the tragic incident and expressed grief over the loss of the lives during a visit to Shanghai. She returns today from a six-day visit to China.
The accident that occurred near Challakere area in Karnataka also injured 25 people.
The overcrowded bus that met with the accident was carrying mostly poor labourers travelling to Bangalore in search of livelihood following disruption in the NREGA programme in the area where they were residing.
