Quake hits Russia's Kamchatka peninsula

An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale rocks Kamchatka peninsula in Russia. No damage has been reported.

An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale on Wednesday shook the Kamchatka peninsula in Russia's far east, RIA-Novosti news agency reported.

The quake occurred in Koriakie district, a local official of the emergency situations ministry told the agency. No victims or damage were reported and there was no tsunami alert.
