Road accident in Nigeria kills 17
At least 17 people were killed in a road accident, in which a trailer collided with three other vehicles, in southwest Nigeria, local media reported Saturday.

At least 17 people were killed in a road accident, in which a trailer collided with three other vehicles, in southwest Nigeria, local media reported Saturday.
An eyewitness was quoted as saying that the accident took place at about 8 pm on Thursday, when a station wagon, a truck and a car rammed into the trailer loaded with alcoholic drinks and then burst into fire on the road between Gbongan and Ife Ibadan.
The fire prevented the combined team of police, Federal Road Safety Corps and fire services from saving the lives of people trapped in the accident.
An officer who led the police rescue team to the accident scene confirmed that 17 bodies had been recovered.
