South and central China are prone to flooding during the summer rainy season.
In Sichuan, rain has affected 6.9 million people, with more than 250,000 people being relocated, Chinese media reports said.
According to a report issued earlier this month by the state flood headquarters, 95 people have been killed and 21 people went missing in flooding throughout China in the first six months of the year.
