Student held at Pindi airport after arms found hidden in shoes

A PoK-based student was arrested at the airport in the Pakistani garrison city of Rawalpindi on Tuesday while he was attempting to board a flight to Britain with a pistol and two knives concealed in his shoes.

A PoK-based student was arrested at the airport in the Pakistani garrison city of Rawalpindi on Tuesday while he was attempting to board a flight to Britain with a pistol and two knives concealed in his shoes.

Azhar Iqbal, a resident of Kohi Ratta in Pakistan- occupied Kashmir, was arrested by the Airport Security Force at Benazir Bhutto International Airport after a pistol and two knives were found hidden in his shoes during scanning.

Iqbal intended to fly to Birmingham in Britain on a Pakistan International Airlines flight, officials said.
