The latest victims included a 10-month-old girl, a one-year-old boy, an 18-year-old pregnant woman, a 24-year-old man and two other men in their 60s, Health Minister Liow Tiong Lai said.
Schools with suspected cases should not close entirely unless they were unable to function due to a high incidence of infection or quarantine cases among the teachers or students, he said.
The Health Minister also added that the principals of affected schools have to determine if this were the case, then they had to follow advice from the state health director after informing the state education director.
