The hangings were carried out on Wednesday in the central Iranian city of Sari, the Herana website reported.

The names of the executed were not made available, it said.

Iran has executed around 300 people so far this year, the website said.

Many international human rights groups have spoken out against Iran for its use of capital punishment.
