In a television chat show, Bappi Lahiri recalled that he was one of the few musicians Michael Jackson agreed to meet during his only visit to India in 1996. He added that MJ told him that he had heard and liked two songs -- Jimmy Jimmy and Disco Dancer -- which Bappi had composed. .

Bollywood musician-singer Bappi Lahiri, who is back with songs for Taapsee Pannu’s Running Shaadi.com, got emotional while talking about his meeting with the late pop star Michael Jackson.

Talking during the show My Life My Story on Zee Classic, Bappi Lahiri recalled 1996, the year when Michael Jackson came to India for his first and only show in the country. Revealing that he was among the few people who got to meet MJ personally, Bappi Da added that the music legend told him that he had heard and liked his popular songs Jimmy Jimmy and Disco Dancer.

Calling it one of the most cherished moments of his life, Bappi said he was elated that a star of that stature knew him.

Bappi Lahiri even holds a Guinness Record of 180 songs in 33 films in a span of just one year..
