New dates for IIT Madras placements

The first five days, January 6-10, 2016,will have two sessions per day (7am to 2pm and 4pm to 11pm). There will be no interviews on January 11, which is a break day. In between January 12-14, 2016, there will be one session per day (10am to 5pm).

Placements at IIT Madras have been rescheduled for January 6-16, 2016, owing to torrential downpour in Chennai last week. The first five days, January 6-10, 2016,will have two sessions per day (7am to 2pm and 4pm to 11pm). There will be no interviews on January 11, which is a break day. In between January 12-14, 2016, there will be one session per day (10am to 5pm).

Placements at IIT Madras, that started on December 1, 2015 saw the graveyard session with five international offers from six ­companies this year.

This decision was taken in consultation with student representatives, Prof V Babu, placement advisor, Prof Sivakumar, dean of students and Prof Bhaskar Ramamurthi, director, IIT Madras.

“Companies have been informed about the interviews being postponed. They have assured that they will come and recruit from IIT Madras despite the disruption,” said Babu.

Placements at IIT Madras, that started on December 1, 2015 saw the graveyard session with five international offers from six ­companies this year, while the forenoon session saw 85 offers from 18 ­companies. The afternoon session had 26 offers coming from eight ­companies. This makes it 117 offers from 31 companies this year on day one of the 2015-16 placement season.
