Rekha can rock any look. We play stylist to the evergreen diva. See pics
Looks like Rekha has finally woken up from her style slumber. It’s great to see the 80s diva experiment with her looks of late. With the help of some cool imaging, we tried imagining what Rekha would look like if she were to wear these clothes.fashion and trends Updated: Feb 10, 2017 07:36 IST
There’s something majestic about Rekha’s beauty. Her olive complexion, classic features and long black hair make her the perfect muse for a designer. But sadly, her style picks hardly do justice to her charismatic personality. The 80s diva displays such unflinching loyalty for loud silk saris that she ends up making her look agonisingly predictable.
So, it was nice to see Rekha take a break from her traditional look and wear turbans, glasses, kurtas and sneakers at a few outings recently. Encouraged, we decided to ‘dress up’ Rekha (with the help of photoshop) in outfits that flatter her personality, and realised that little efforts can get her amazing results. We tried to imagine what Rekha would look like if she were to wear these outfits. Here’s our wish list for Rekha:
Here’s our top pick for the gorgeous actor.
This deep emerald gown by Shantanu and Nikhil will be an elegant pick for Rekha for a red carpet event. The dramatic ruffled layering makes it equal parts power and romance, just apt for her strong personality. She can style her hair in soft, side swept waves.
Ornate clothing is big on the global ramp. Rekha can totally rock this black Siddhartha Tytler cape sleeved jacket and ruched dhoti style pants, teamed with peep toe boots. A deep wine shade for lips and dramatic smoky eyes will complete the look.
Pantsuits are having a moment in the fashion world. This gilded pantsuit by Rajesh Pratap Singh with fishmouth label paired with nude peep toes is perfect to mix power with unadulterated glam. A choker and an elaborate haathphool will give a fun, quirky spin to this look.
Some fairytale drama
Rekha loves the colour white. The actor can rock this white Monisha Jaising sari for a wedding. She will give major style goals in this dance-floor perfect sari with fringes on the pallu.
Regal, like Rekha
This floor grazing printed gown by Rahul Mishra with cheery, plump flowers club fairytale romance with a dose of fun. She doesn’t need any jewellery with this look. Nude lip colour with a touch of gloss and softly defined eyes will complete her makeup.
