Super Bowl’s super Monday! All the best trailers that came out today
Stranger Things, The Fate of the Furious, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 and more. Pop in your earphones and bring out the notepad to make a list of all things you’ll watch this year.
Super Bowl is a great event not just for sports fans but for all the film and television addicts as well. As many as 10 new trailers, from Guardians of the Galaxy, Stranger Things and more, debuted during the commercial breaks.
So pop in your earphones and bring out the notepad to make a list of all things you’ll watch this year.
Stranger Things
We now have our first look at the second season of Netflix’s widely popular series Stranger Things. The short, 36-second clip begins with an old Eggo commercial of two kids fighting over the waffles. The light moment is soon compromised by eerily flickering lights and Mike screaming an upside-down Eleven’s name, who wakes up like a particular Jon Snow and is again bleeding through her nose.
The kids are back on their bikes and in Ghostbusters costumes when Dustin spots something weird outside the school. We are also given the first glimpse of the new monster for the season. The show comes out this Halloween.
The Fate of the Furious
The clip, which is our second look at the widely anticipated movie after the first trailer in December, is all about betrayal, a half-hearted kiss, and of course, lot of cars. The latest spot is just a minute long and looks more or less like a more concise version of the first itself. A lot of scenes and the tone are the same, and nothing new from the plot is revealed. There is, however, an awkward kiss between Vin Diesel, who has gone rogue and betrayed his family and friends, and Charlize Theron, the ‘dreadlocked’ villain of the instalment.
The Fate of the Furious opens in theatres on April 14, 2017.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2
Baby Groot steals the show. Again.
The second trailer for the highly-anticipated sequel to the hit 2013 superhero film came loaded with plenty of awesome moments but the thing that stuck was Baby Groot. “He says welcome to the freaking Guardians of the galaxy....Only he didn’t use freaking.” So cool.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales
In case you were wondering where Captain Jack Sparrow, the sassy half-dead pirate, was in the last few clips of the latest instalment of the Pirates of the Caribbean series, wonder no more. The new trailer gives us the first, albeit small, look at Johnny Depp. There is also a very sinister Javier Bardem and a surprise Orlando Bloom.
Not too sure about the Orlando Bloom part but we really think we saw him there. Why don’t you watch it too and let us know? The film releases on Memorial Day.
Logan
Logan is back with yet another gritty, emotional trailer and as much as we are excited to watch this one, it makes us very nervous about how scarred it will leave us. In the new 30-second clip, as a woman sings a very sombre Amazing Grace in the background, we see Wolverine just being extremely intense, a few more kids running away from the bad guys and Professor X writhing in pain.
This is going to be good and hopefully not too hurting. Logan’s out on March 3.
Life
The new trailer for Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal’s Life is far better than the first one. It has more context, better build up and just... more alien stuff. While Reynolds gets most footage in the 2.5 minute-long clip, Gyllenhaal’s hushed goodnight messages in the back ground give an incredibly eerie feeling to the trailer. It comes out on March 24.
