Shivakumar (12), Vasu (10), Ganesh (8) and Ganesh (6) were killed in Rothu Kunta village when they were playing in an abandoned house and one of its walls collapsed.

Heavy rains have lashed three districts of Andhra Pradesh – Chittoor, Nellore and Kadapa – over the last few days, flooding villages and disrupting road and rail transport. Officials said 14,000 people have been shifted to relief camps in Nellore and Chittoor districts.

The rains, under the impact of low pressure in the Bay of Bengal, have resulted in large-scale damage to crops, besides wreaking havoc in Tamil Nadu.

The toll in rain-related incidents in Tamil Nadu touched 79 on Tuesday, even as the Met department predicted the low pressure area would dissipate in a day or two.
