INDORE Questions were yet again raised on security arrangement at Indore’s Maharaja Yeshwantrao Hospital, the state’s biggest government-run hospital, after a man was caught allegedly touching a female patient in an ‘inappropriate’ way.
The accused, Sajan Solanki, was arrested under Section 151 of CrPC (arrest to prevent the commission of cognizable offences), Sanyogitaganj police station in-charge Kamlesh Sharma said.
After being admitted some days ago, Lalita from Khandwa underwent an operation on Thursday. Sajan had entered her ward. The patient’s family doubted Sajan’s intention as he touched the patient even as none of duty doctors came for routine check.
On Friday afternoon, Sajan was caught by the patient’s family when he reached the ward and handed over to the police in the campus.
During search, Sharma said, police found an identity card on the basis of which police came to know that Sajan is a DMLT (Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology) student and came to the hospital without permission.
Hospital superintendent Dr VS Pal said hospital management will look into the matter and will take relevant steps. “We’ll have to talk with police and will ensure no repeat of such incidents,” he said.
