Stepathlon aims to combat the issue of sedentary lifestyle through an interesting and fun way.The traditional 100-day virtual race has been changed to a 75-day virtual race across companies worldwide.

With the aim to bring a positive change in the mindset of people and help them come out of their sedentary lifestyle in a fun way, Stepathlon, a community-based wellness programme, has introduced a 75-day race.

Stepathletes (registered participants of Stepathlon) will be grouped in a team of five, irrespective of their geographical location, age, gender, designation and physical ability. This year, the race will be divided into three stages with focus on weight management, nutrition and stress management. The initiative is the brain child of Ravi Krishnan, CEO and co-founder, Stepathlon.

Krishnan shares, “Through Stepathlon, we seek to modify people’s behaviour in a fun and sustainable manner. We use a combination of self-quantification, gamification, gratification and mass participation with the goal of creating a healthier, fitter, happier lifestyle.”

After six successful shows, this year, the organisation has moved to a 75-day race format. On the dos and don’ts while participating in such events, Ravi says, “Due to the inclusive and fun nature, there are no major ‘dos and don’ts’ approach. We are an ‘anyone, anywhere, anytime’ movement. Our ‘Movement for Movement’ entails doing what makes you feel comfortable whenever you can.Our philosophy is ‘balance’, which is what we encourage in all our participants. The only ‘don’t’ I’d recommend is ‘do not procrastinate’. You are never too old, never too young and it’s never too late. Anyone who has not been active for a long period of time should ensure that they start slow, and take medical advice.”

The Stepisode 7 race will be starting September 20 and the registrations are open. Also, since this is a virtual race, it is not city specific and is available to corporates across India for participation.
