A commuter died and two others were injured at a bus stop in Chembur after a BEST bus knocked them down on Monday. According to the RCF police, the incident occurred at Indian Oil bus stop in Gawanpada.

The deceased was identified as Maruti Kshirsagar,35, a resident of Turbhe. While Manoj Insan, 36, and Haresh Kshirsat, 34, sustained injuries in the mishap. Kshirsagar sustained grievous injuries in the mishap and was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
“The driver lost control of the bus and knocked the commuters waiting at the bus stop,” said a police officer.
The bus driver has been arrested and booked under relevant section of the Indian penal Code (IPC), including death by negligence.
