A 25-year-old woman, who was on her way to the hospital, delivered a baby boy at Thane station’s platform number 10 on Wednesday.

When Jhanvi Jadhav, a resident of Shaninagar at Badlapur, experienced labour pains, her neighbours decided to take her to a hospital in Vashi. She was waiting for a train when she delivered the baby.

A woman constable and women passengers quickly came to her aid and gathered around her, helping with the delivery.

The baby is doing fine and the Government Railway Police in Thane have taken a note of the incident.
