The forensic team that conducted the autopsy said the assailants were extremely violent

The 25-year-old physiotherapist, who was found dead in her Vile Parle home on Tuesday, was sexually assaulted by more than one person before being strangulated to death, according to the post-mortem report.

Forensic experts said she was forced into unnatural sex and burnt with acid.

Forensic experts said she was forced into unnatural sex and burnt with acid. The experts found an acid burn mark on her chest and said she was sexual assaulted by two or more people out of ‘jealousy or cruelty’.

“She wasn’t just strangulated with the help of jeans, but the culprits also used their hands to choke her to ensure she dies,” said a forensic expert from Cooper Hospital and Medical College. “There was a blackened burn mark on her chest, which was caused due to an inflammable fluid. But when our team visited the place, they couldn’t find any bottle or flask of fluid,” the expert said.

The forensic team that conducted the autopsy opined that the assailants were violent. “Acid is used to destroy the identity of the person, but in this case, as the incident took place in her home, the victim’s identity was obvious. So the reason behind acid use could be an extreme mental feeling,” said another expert.

Doctors have also found multiple abrasion marks in and around the private parts of the victim. “She was subjected to forceful sexual intercourse before being killed brutally. But we have send the vaginal swab and other samples for chemical analysis. The case will be clearer once the reports are out from Kalina Forensic Laboratory,” said the forensic experts.

The doctors, putting the time of woman’s death between 11pm to 2am approximately, said the act isn’t the work of a single person. “Simultaneous strangulation by hands and cloth and sexual assault, in a room that is hardly 6feet by 2feet, without any signs of a scuffle, indicate there were two or more people, who were known to the victim,” said one expert.
