A video showing a working, paper model of a rotary engine being constructed by Belarusian modeller, Aliaksei Zholner has gone viral with over 250,000 views online. Zholner decided to build the engine after one of his online followers suggested it in the comments below another of his videos. Speaking to Reuters, Zholner explained that he was inspired by the Wankel internal combustion engine, describing it as a perfect example of the mathematics used in engineering. It took him five weeks to build and design his paper version which works with the aid of a pressure machine.Zholner started building paper models as a child and developed his passion to create complex designs.He enjoys working with paper as it is cheap and easy to manipulate, requiring no specialist equipment he added.
