The works in this exhibition not only represent the frenetic pace of urban life but also attempt to seek a network that can result in pacification and unification of the urban disposition. Some works experiment with direct use of metaphors and connotations to create social alertness, and the artists working at the edge of the social matrix respond to the entropy created by the spin of industrial, mercantile, electronic expansion. The others tantalise in lyrical and symbolic manifestation of their banal situations painted beautifully to outdo their real self, approaching a surrealistic order. On till August 2 at Lalit Kala Akademi, Gallery No. 4, Rabindra Bhavan.
