Kids, draw your sport

If you — or anyone you know — is aged between five and seventeen, can hold a pen, crayon, pencil or a paintbrush and is not yet cynical about how the Commonwealth Games will pan out, this one’s for you.
ShOObh arts competition, in association with Lalit Kala Academy, is inviting entries for a drawing competition to commemorate the Commonwealth Games. The last date for submission of entries is a good two weeks away — August, 31 — so you can still make it.
The competition is open to school children, and foreign nationals. The theme of the competition is ‘My Dream Sport’. Teachers, too, can participate. Only fitting for a contest whose results will be announced on September 5, we suppose. Grade-A entries shall be displayed at exhibition(s) to be held during CWG-2010.
Anjolie Ela Menon, painter and head of the jury for the competition, says, “Platforms like The shOObh Arts Competition may help reveal some of India's emerging talent who may not have been discovered otherwise.”
Six hundred entries will be short-listed. Further ‘Grade-A’ entries will be selected by the Jury by September 4, and handed over to head of Jury on September, 5.
Various paintings from the shOObh Arts Competition collection will be exhibited in museums, public exhibitions and Commonwealth Games sites as well as key locations across New Delhi and NCR.
